Rocky Mountain Christian Athletic Association Policies

Introduction

This policy manual outlines the structure, responsibilities, and behavioral expectations for all participants in our Christian Athletic League. Our league seeks to glorify God through sports, promoting fellowship, teamwork, and Christ-centered principles. All members, including players, volunteers, and staff, are expected to uphold these values.

  1. Mission Statement
    1. The mission of our league is to honor God by fostering an environment of competitive sportsmanship, spiritual growth, and Christian fellowship.
  2. Leadership Structure
    1. Board of Directors – Major Itule, Mark Sutherlin, Joe Seaton
    2. Executive Director – Major Itule is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of all league operations. This role involves 
      1. Managing communications with players, coaches, and volunteers.
      2. maintaining accurate records 
      3. Overseeing scheduling for practices and games. 
      4. The Executive Director 
      5. Ensures facilities are properly prepared, referees and coaches are scheduled, and equipment is safe and well-maintained.
      6. Regularly updates league participants, coordinates with local churches and community partners, and promotes the league through outreach and social media. 
      7. Financial oversight includes tracking registration fees, donations, and sponsorships, as well as preparing routine reports. 
      8. Leads planning and execution of league events and provides training, support, and supervision to staff and volunteers.
      9. In alignment with the league’s mission, this position includes integrating Christian values into programming, leading devotionals, and fostering spiritual growth among participants.
      10. Plays a key role in shaping and improving league programs through feedback and strategic development, ensuring a positive, Christ-centered experience for all involved.

  3. Code of Conduct:
    1. All players and activities must align with Judeo-Christian principles.
    2. Participants must demonstrate respect, fairness, and sportsmanship.
    3. Offensive language, unsportsmanlike conduct, or behavior contrary to Christian values is prohibited
    4. Conflict resolution will follow biblical principles (Matthew 18:15-17).
  4. Volunteers
    1. Qualifications
      1. Must be at least 18 years old.
      2. Must agree to and uphold the league’s Statement of Faith.
      3. Should have a heart for service and demonstrate Christian character.
  5. Roles and Responsibilities
    1. Coaches
      1. Serve as mentors and role models for players.
      2. Plan and lead practices and games with an emphasis on both skill-building and spiritual growth.
    2. Referees
      1. Officiate games with impartiality, fairness, and adherence to league rules. GRACE WINS
  6. Volunteers
    1. Help with setup, concessions, and cleanup during league events.
    2. Volunteers are expected to lead by example.
    3. Any concerns about behavior must be reported to Executive Director
    4. Persistent misconduct may result in removal from service.
  7. Players Eligibility
    1. Players must meet age requirements for their division – Age 14 minumim.
    2. Parental or guardian consent is required for minors.
    3. Players and families must agree to abide by the league’s Code of Conduct.
  8. Expectations
    1. Behavior
      1. Players are to display Christ-like attitudes on and off the field.
      2. Respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials is mandatory.
    2. Commitment
      1. Players are encouraged to attend all practices, games, and devotionals.
      2. Notify coaches in advance of any absences.

 

  1. Sportsmanship
    1. Winning is secondary to honoring God and fostering fellowship.
    2. Celebrations and interactions with opponents must reflect humility and respect.
  2. Disciplinary Policy
    1. First Offense: Verbal warning from the coach or referee.
    2. Second Offense: Temporary removal from play and discussion with the League Director.
    3. Third Offense: Suspension or removal from the league, at the discretion of the Board.
  3. General Policies
    1. Game Day
      1. All games will begin with prayer or a short devotional.
      2. Clothing must adhere to modesty standards.
      3. Game schedules and updates will be communicated in advance.
  4. Inclusivity – While the league is faith-based, players of all backgrounds are welcome. However, all participants must respect the league’s Judeo-Christian values and HONOR Gods Word is the Ultimate Authority that Guides our Conduct and behavior.
  5. Health and Safety
    1. First aid kits will be available at all events.
    2. An emergency action plan will be in place for each venue.
    3. Players and volunteers must immediately report injuries.
  6. Grievance Procedure
    1. Any concerns or grievances should be submitted in writing to the League Director.
    2. The Board of Directors will review and respond within 7 business days.
  7. Acknowledgment
    1. All participants (players, volunteers, and parents/guardians of minors) must agree to adhere to these policies and any changes that occur to them. 
    2. This policy is subject to periodic review and amendment by the Board of Directors.
